Enterprise Development

Edcon is the leading clothing, footwear and textiles (CFT) retailing group in Southern Africa, trading through a range of retail formats and therefore has a significant role to play in stimulating growth in the country and transformation within the retail sector.

Edcon recognises that the implementation of an Enterprise Development (ED) Policy is an essential mechanism to meet and embrace the objectives set out in the Broad-Based BEE Act 53 of 2003 and will enable Edcon to fulfil its commitment to BBBEE, facilitating economic participation in the economy by black people, women and people with disabilities.

Edcon's ED strategy is to implement initiatives that will empower and transfer skills to its employees, its customers and its suppliers.

Only enterprises that are either category A or B will be considered for ED programmes
