Edcon Financial Services provides banking
and insurance products primarily to the Group's 4.2 million accountholders.
These facilities, products and services are designed to enhance the lifestyles
of our customers in the various target markets of the Group's Trading Divisions.
Banking products currently consist of the private-label store cards, co-branded
personal loans, home loans and Edgars & Jet MasterCards. The division provides
third-party credit management services to Arthur Kaplan Jewellers, Tiger
Wheel and Tyre, Ceramic Tile Market (CTM) and The Cross Trainer. Most Optometrists
currently have agreements that allow them to charge transactions onto customers?
Edcon accounts. Edcon credit is also an accepted tender at MediCross, Prime
Cure and selected Netcare Hospitals.
Insurance products include our Account Protection Plans (credit life), funeral
plans, commuter travel, domestic worker cover, cell phone insurance, legal
expenses insurance, appliance maintenance, motor & household and various
other offerings. The division continually conducts market research to anticipate
and meet the needs of our customers within the various lifestyle segments.
The division leverages the largest consumer database in South Africa to
cross-sell products and services to customers under the Edgars or Jet Financial
Services banners. Due to the bulk-buying power of the Group the division
is able to offer the best value for money products and services to our customers.
