Transformation Board Committee

The Committee is constituted as a committee of the board of directors of Edcon Holdings. The purpose of the Committee is to guide, monitor, review and evaluate the Group's progress on transformation, with specific reference to the seven major elements of transformation, being ownership, management control, employment equity, skills development, preferential procurement, enterprise development and socio-economic development initiatives

Enterprise Development
Edcon is the leading clothing, footwear and textiles (CFT) retailing group in Southern Africa, trading through a range of retail formats and therefore has a significant role to play in stimulating growth in the country and transformation within the retail sector.

Preferential Procurement
The EDCON group shall promote, accelerate and support procurement of goods and services from BBBEE suppliers in line with the BBBEE Act 53 of 2003 and BBBEE Codes of Good Practice guidelines from Department of Trade and Industry.
